noobie needs help

i'm sure this isn't the right forum for this but i'm positive that it will be put in the forum soon.

Okay, so here it is in a nutshell: i'm new to the AMV world and i have had the perfect (in my opinion) AMV planned for a couple of months now. My new G5 comp came in last night and now, i need help using my new Mac to make an AMV. If there is anyone out there that can help me, please do. I really want this AMV to be completed before December 3 - the starting date for the East Meets South Convention in Anniston, Alabama.


Is there anyone who can help me???

it doesn't make any sense to me. It talks about the G3 and 4. What i have the is the G5 and i don't know if i have all those programs or not and now, someone's telling me that i can't rip from DVDs on a Mac at all!!! hoh... this is going to take forever. If i can't do it on the Mac, i sure can't do it on my PC - it can't even read DVDs, much less Rip them!! Besides!i don't want to have anything to do with that demon at all!!

It would help to know what programs you are using. Unless I am mistaken Final Cut (pro or express) can import the .vobs directly without any conversion. (Everything I did macwise was always MPEG1or2.) That should get you started. Talk to Red Wolf, he could tell you more. As for the differences in your machines (G3/G4/G5) that is minimal and should have little no bearing on the project.

i already have spoken with Red Wolf and he told me to download 0Sex and DiVA. Now i have another problem. It only records the WARNING at the start of the DVD - no matter what chapter i'm on!! why is it doing that?! why will it not record what i tell it to?!
