Enlighten me on Kevin Caldwell

So I've been hanging around the .org for some time now, downloading from the top 10% and other such lists, reading the forums etc... And I've noticed that Kevin Caldwell is almost venerated as an AMV demigod.

I notice his stuff is good, but hey, since I'm not a creator and I don't know any of the history behind this guy, would you care to enlighten me?

Serious. Start from when he appeared on the scene, how he revolutionized the AMV world, his trademarks etc. Even do an amv by amv analysis of what makes it stand out so much.

I'm looking forward to replies on this.

Well, it would be pretty remarkable if anyone knew anything of value about the guy personally, or how he edited...

But I'm sure looking forward to the more informed replies here, myself. Only seen a couple of his videos.

What always struck me from what I've seen is how he always used very simple editing, nothing real fancy, and yet the concepts always shined through. And the concepts themselves were simple enough! It must be his artistic efficiency that gets me.

And Engel made me smile repeatedly, and is part of the reason I finally came to this community

Um, anything non-classified that could be shared here, perhaps? I'm not even sure how many videos the man made, or at least which are available, myself.

I'm reading through it right now and it seems to be a chronological ramble of everything anyone could ever want to know about Caldwell.

Yeah, sorry about that. You're kinda lucky to get the documents at all, since I saved them from a site that went down. Maybe http://www.archive.org/ would have something?
