The "Super Bowl" of AMV contests?

Post by HurQlez03 » Fri Jul 09, 2004 2:10 pm

I have been looking over the contest, Otakon, AWA, FanimeCon. And I was wondering. Which contest this year is considered to be the highest form of AMV contests? the one that everyone looks up to?

AWA. No ifs, ands, or buts.

I remember reading somewhere a few months ago (or maybe closer to a year) that the "big four" of AMV contests are generally considered to be, in chronological order: A-kon, AX, Otakon, and AWA. Winning at all four was described as being akin to a Grand Slam in tennis, or something similar.

I'm getting the impression that A-kon isn't as big of a deal these days though.

AWA and Otakon are pretty much the only ones to be really respected. A-kon is a joke, and from what I hear AX is pretty rag-tag.

But AWA is 5 miles out in front of second place as far as quality of contest goes :)
