Mentoring
many, need help. and as i understand it, most members cant stand it if a n00b crys "can someone help me please?"
ergo, it would be very nice to see an area here for members who wish to offer help in mentoring.
they just post the time and date of the day they will have the time and inclination to help a body newbie out, or to trade ideas with more experianced editors. (specifying the software they wish, or are willing to have discourse on/with) and interested parties can respond back.
am i asking just bacause I want one? Mmmm... partially yes. granted, i am frustrated as hell about some notions/ideas/effects i cant figure out how to put into effect to the point that the entire project is on hold, but my motives are not entirally selfish-
after all, the exchaning of knowlage and ideas would the make the entire org as a group or singular persons, better.[/u]

Even if the voices in my head aren't real, they have some Damn good ideas, you're just jealous because they only talk to me.

The chat would probably be a good place to discuss such topics. While you might not find someone to hold your hand, you can probably get basic assistance, and get pointed in the right direction.

The guides here are more than enough for the basics..... if people take the time to read them. Plus there are tons of tutorials out there like creativecow.net
There is more satisfaction from self learning in my opinion....
I asked for help from a friend once on after effects and he laughed and went idle on me for the rest of the day.

well, i'm still not really into using effects, but i think i got the basics down quite good. But if people think i'm good enough for mentoring i don't know. I already am teaching someone to make AMVs, and most if it is just trying out things and having someone to look at what you created, before you put up a final version. However, i might want to learn more about using effects, i'm thinking of making an AMV which uses some effects (some that AbsoluteDestiny sometimes uses, the doulbe "shakey" images), so i could use some help on finding out how to do those. But yeah, I could be usefull for mentoring at basic level. Unless it's a noob that wan't to know how to make AMV cliches, like DBZ, Naturo, Linkin' Park and that sort of stuff

nonono... the assumption would be that the people had advanced a bit past whatever the guide(s) can help one with. wich isnt much.Castor Troy wrote:The guides here are more than enough for the basics..... if people take the time to read them. example: ever have an artistic idea you wished you could do but didnt know how? that is the general notion.
to you, there may be more staisfaction that way. many others, like myself, get the more out of a better finished project so asking for tips isnt a problem.
and ild say that you must have one assh0le of a "friend" there. o_O

I personally think this has alot of merit, I've been talking about
this idea for the last month or so. Here's the main problem for
many of the upper-level editors the guides are easy... Well,
I-have to tell-you that the basic editing advice is easy ,but,
after that it might as well be written in Kanji. This is why the upper
people should be helping out the lower ones. I personally thought
three people in my wake (That way when I go... you'll have to deal
with my three generals) SPAF, Prea, and training a new editor
who has yet to pick his name
Thou, I am known to yell sometimes
when SPAF is tooo dense. However, you should see his next upcoming
video it looks sweet.
