How about London Dungeon? There's a great Misfits classic.
Of course, there are other such Misfits classics as Bullet and Die, Die My Darling (and all conveniently on Misfits I), but you'd have to be a lot more specific about what you're doing with the video to pick the best song to fit.
There's also the Sex Pistols, Dead Kennedies, and Ramones for other older punk stuff that was popular enough for most people to recognize it, and all the various flavors of punk that developed later on with bands like Toxic Narcotic, the Offspring, and (dare I say it) Green Day (they had some really good stuff among their repertoire). Some would call Blink 182 punk, but I have reservations on that one. You could even go for that celtic-influenced sound that seemed to hit the mainstream with the Dropkick Murpheys.
Oh, and how can I forget post-Danzig Misfits. On the one hand it sounds almost as bad as post-Ozzy Black Sabbath (which, in all truth wasn't any worse than the last album or two they did when they still had the then very drunk and very stoned - hence the fact that he still seems to have a bad hangover - Ozzy, not to mention the fact that a few of the songs on the Dio-voiced "Heaven and Hell" were actually incredably good), but on the other they picked up a new a much more "heavy" sound while maintaining their classic B-movie lyrical motif. I know there's a fair share of videos already done to Helena off of Famous Monsters, but I'd love to see one to "Dust to Dust".

yeah, i went through a big sex pistols phaze. im still planing on dong a vid for submission. but im not sure if i can make it work for legend of dragoon... maybe
origonally i was looking for a kind of boppy-fun kinda punk song, like judy is a punk, or the blitzkrieg bop. but i dont think they move right i the cut scenes to do that.
then i completely flipped it and was gonna do a fast, aggressive, and slightly nihilistic kinda song, like how low can a punk get by bad brains. again they didnt move right.
you see, what i mean by not move right is that in the cut scenes, theres alot of action, but action thats kinda... standing still. (god, im so articulate
) in the cut scenes for legend of dragoon, they struggle to hold up big bolders, fly really really fast, and cause alot of explosions. in the only one on one fights they have they just move back and forth basically (theyre in the air).
thats why im having trouble finding a punky song to go with it. in final fantasy they dance, run, and fight and stuff. you'd think theyd basically be the same. ne ways, im doin it for my little bro so... if that helps.

How about one of these? Most of them are either early-80s Hardcore or Ska Revival, is that okay?
Stiff Little Fingers - Alternative Ulster
Dance Hall Crashers - DHC
The Clash - I Fought The Law
Faction - Skate And Destroy
Agent Orange - Bloodstains (Original Version; not Darkness Version)
Operation Ivy - Sound System
Peter And The Test Tube Babies - Up Yer Bum
When you mentioned trying to pick up boulders or whatnot, the lyrics in I Fought The Law really stood out.

Well, considering they were only with Dance Hall Crashers for a few weeks, it's hard to say how much influence they had, although Op Ivy and DHC both sound somewhat bouncier than the couple of studio cuts I've heard from Rancid (and when I saw them perform at Warped last year). I dunno about catchy though, I'd say it's about the same.DDramone wrote:i've never really listened to the dance hall crashers, but im a big time rancid fan. do tim and matt bring that kida trade-mark catchy stuff into em?
