Vid Codecs: Please! Some General Help!?!?

I have a very excellent video i have made which i would really like to share with everyone.

The problem is i can't find a codec and format to put it in so that it is easily seen by everyone. Please, if you have any knowledge in this field, give me just a little bit of info in this area so i can share my creation. I don't know very much about codecs and compression. i need a very simple solution. please help. Thank U!

MPEG 4 of some type or MPEG 1 works on pretty much everthing.
