We all know how wrong that amv of dwchang was/is, but non the less ist is still one of my fave vids. Just wondering though if he inadvertly started a fad now. If you read through his announcement other people are now wanting to do more Disney related amv's. Such as "Aladdin: Never had a friend like me set to Hellsing or Vampire Hunter D". Even myself am working on a disney concept thanks to dwchang. So the question is, do you see think this is going to turn out as another LP/Evenesence fad or just quitely fade away? By all means, I hope it stays out and we see more wrong concepts such as that.
btw, that amv has now changed the way I view all other amv's!
The fear of what dwchang may have started with his amv?!

I honestly think you're overexaggerating *more* than a bit, here. I'm also rather concerned if that vid honestly changed your AMV-worldview any more than proving to you that just about ANY song can be done right.
I'm sure there were Disney-song vids BEFORE Just Can't Wait (look at the Disney DDR Project), and there will definately be Disney-song vids AFTER Just Can't Wait. It won't become this huge trend I'm sure you're thinking it will.
That said, I'm sure that any Disney AMV we come up with will surpass the amount of work that they're putting into all those straight-to-video releases...

In any case, it wasn't dwchang's idea - it was ErMaC and me that developed the disney ideas... it's just the bet forced Daniel to make it.
Oh and yes, you are totally over-exaggerating it... there's been plenty of disney songs used in the past. I recently saw a video to "Kiss the Girl" from The Little Mermaid using Mermaid Melody Pitchi Pitchi Pitch, for example.
