Why do people only notice the BAD points of your video?
Look at this opinion. About half a paragraph of good stuff, and a full ten paragraphs of bad stuff. I spent a long itme on this video, and have gotten nothing in return (as usual).

Why can't people find a few more good things about movies to say? I hope my upcoming Chrono Cross video (which ive currently spent around 8 days on) receives a bit more praise then this.
I know it's not good to whine about your opinions, but it just seems that with me it can't be helped. Work should have a reward, is the point I'm making.

To simply answer this, you have to consider....do you really need them to go through the video and tell you what is good about it..when you should already know what is good about it.
All the bad points where listed because its better to know what could of been done better (and for everything, there is always room for improvement). Plus it's nice to know that the person watched the video closely enough to point them out...it's good to know you had their attention...for better or for worse o.O
Either that or you ended up with and op from someone with a rather pesamistic (sp?) personality?

First: the opinion that you linked to is not public, so we can't read it.
Second: sometimes it's good to get a lot of "bad" feedback, assuming said feedback is written clearly and constructively. It gives you points for potential improvement. I personally find those opinions much more valuable.
One of my videos took over six months to complete. It received a 4 overall from someone. That someone, however, backed up that number with lots and LOTS of feedback. Which is fine.

Oh wow, EIGHT whole days, huh? Or is that just like a couple hours each day? I hate to be the one to tell you this, but some people, like myself spend a good solid MONTH working on an AMV over the course of a year or more. It's all a matter of perspective.
The work *IS* the reward. The times I've spent entire weekends doing nothing but video editing and watching anime whilst drinking Mt. Dew and eating pizza and hanging out with friends...it really is reward enough. Not only that but making something that YOU love. When I make AMVs, I make them for me, they are reflections of my sense of self, my being, they are as much apart of who I am as my opinions, ideals, tastes, etc.I know it's not good to whine about your opinions, but it just seems that with me it can't be helped. Work should have a reward, is the point I'm making.
I've never made an AMV for anyone other than myself. I share them though, and if even ONE single person likes them, feels touched by them, relates to them, whatever, then that makes me even happier. And the thing of it is, they don't even need to tell me, I know they are out there because I myself have been touched by other peoples AMVs before and in many cases I never left an opinion. An opinion just couldn't really express how I enjoyed it.
Some of the best "rewards" I've gotten from people, haven't been in the form of opinions, but in private messages that say things like how they want to see more of my work, or how they can't wait for my next AMV, that sort of thing.

The link to your video's opinion page doesn't show up since I haven't given the vid an op.. The correct link should be here.
How should I say this..
Things like recieving bad opinions are bound to happen. What you should do is to try accepting some of these thoughts from others and treating them as opportunities to grow as an editor.
In all honesty, it doesn't seem like you got a very bad opinion.
So accept, grow, and move on..

I'd consider an opinion really bad if the person told you were the scum of the earth in the most degrading way possible and threatened to kill your family if you made another video.
I got one of those before I even came on the .org

Look on the Top Star Scale for Storytelling. I made that video one morning.
Time is not always a prerequisite for quality.

You're using the star scale as a means of measuring quality?
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...oh I'm sorry, that's just REALLY funny to me. ^_^
IIRC I think my Hellsing video got a higher star rating than "Twist Of" and it was just about 8 shades of nothing special at all...except for the fact that Hellsing is more popular than Outlaw Star. `, )
Star Ratings are a VERY poor reflection as to how good an AMV is. But hey, you've piqued my interest, I'm gonna download it...and then I'll give you a REAL, HONEST opinion.
BTW, I also note that you've used an unfamiliar anime series...which is a good tactic for getting high scores, what with the fact that there probably isn't a basis of comparison for anyone. ^_^
