Returining to editing

Post by rteker » Thu Jan 13, 2022 10:54 am

Well its been YEARS since I've done a AMV and have recently returned because I've been without a computer for years. But now I've cot a new PC and I am currently using Vegas Movie Studio HD 11.0, but would like to use something more up to date for quality. Anyone have a good suggestion that doesn't use a subscription (which btw a stupid thing there)?

I can recommend Davinci Resolve, it has a free version, got a post production software built in. The best color correction software on the market, an audio editing tool which is also very nice. And for AMVs I would say the paid version brings nothing really that i would consider as needed.
And later if you want to upgrade you only need to pay once for lifetime updates and support.

I personally just work with Adobe Premiere CS6 (the last version before they moved to creative cloud). Other than Adobe products, there really is only Vegas and Davinci Resolve.

I will say that Vegas has improved substantially with the last few updates, but it still quite buggy. Davinci Resolve being free and still being a great program certainly turns the tide though.

Yep I switched to Davinci Resolve a couple years ago and haven't looked back. Free version meets my needs, but its sometimes annoying when some of the filters are only in the studio version.
