I don't know. Maybe I just don't know enough Pokemon AMVers, but from what I've seen in the times I searched for active Pokemon AMV channels, I found it seems to be more of a niche thing? There were few Pokemon AMVs that seemed to be taken seriously in my opinion, and even less in this small group that had many views, and whose editors had tons of subs. But Pokemon aside, I too really wish to know what the secret is to making it big. I don't even care all that much, tbh. I just find it very weird that editors can literally pour their heart and soul into a project and it gets next to no attention, even when well advertised, but someone can post an AMV that clearly gives off much less energy or conveys that not as much care went into its creation (trust me, you can just FEEL that) and end up with hundreds or thousands of views overnight.

My videos probably gets 20 views max. on day one and only gets around an average of a couple hundred views tops and just plateaus after that. I know I already serve a niche within the AMV niche and I know I should be thankful for the views I receive but it just gets frustrating sometimes and contemplate if making amvs is really worth it anymore. How are people who post videos of the same sub-niche so successful?
Here's my channel if it's worth anyone's time.

One day I woke up from my video having a thousand views to having a hundred thousand and then soon a million and now almost two million. It's very random and kinda depends on what people are into

there was this youtuber GradeUnderA who had almost no views and then one day someone posted one of his videos to a popular subreddit and suddenly he became a youtube celebrity with now millions of views on every single of his videos, the world is crazy

Porn (a.k.a. hentai). It always works, just make it PG-13 by obscurity. My only AMV with views in hundreds of thousands has that, it's easy draw.
