Best AMV Player?
Just curious, what do you think is the best overall player to view AMVs in? Something that's .mpg and .avi compatible. I used to like Windows Media Player, but that started to get ugly just recently (I close it and then it doesn't close when I ctrl+alt+delete, somewhat freezing the computer). RealOne player is what I have been using, but really it does bug the hell out of me with all its computer-slowing ads. So, those who have experience, what would you say is the best free player to view .avi/.mpg (or even more file types) ?

I prefer Windows Media Player myself. I haven't had any problems with it, really. Version 7 gave me a headache, due to the fact that it had no controls when it was full screen, but Version 9 has been just great. I'd try doing a Window's Update and see if that doesn't help you out.

uh.. realone dosent have any ads.
WMP 6.4 is the best in most respects other than the lack of a saturation adjustment and equalizer. Media Player Classic (MPC) by Gabset could be considered pretty good for AMVs since it can play stuff through vfw/directshow, the Real decoder system, and quicktime (a bunch of other stuff too)
WMP 9 isnt all that bad, at least in the corona skin mode.

Personally I prefer Windows Media Player 6.4 (never tryed WMPC, I think I'll try it) because it's the fastest one and the simplest one. It only contains the basic and that's all I need: play, stop, pause full screen and I'm happy. It's really rare it freezes and it take almost no ram and processor power (while not playing a video offcourse). For quicktime I use QuickTime 6 pro or 5 pro (the newest one). And RealOne for rm. I use ZoomPlayer when I wanna have more function.
