Hi guys,
noob question: if you want to enter and AMV contest at an event, do you have to be at that event in person? does it depend? generally yes/no?

It depends on the event but most contests do not require you to be present. I would look over the rules and perhaps contact the coordinator if you are unsure.

The contest is usually better if you attend.
