Video-Stealing from a-m-v.org to go to Cons

Hi! I was hoping to post my Hellsing amv, and get some feedback on it before I take the video to ACEN 2003, but I've heard horror stories of people taking their videos to a con and having it disqualified because some jerk downloaded the video from a-m-v.org and brought it as their own video.

But I guess it all depends on how much it happens... so... how much does this happen? Should I wait until after ACEN to post my video or can I safely post it without worrying *too* much?

Haven't really heard of this happening. If you put a bumper on the begining or ending, there is even less of a chance as the fool who would do such a thing probably wouldn't know how to remove them.

Essentially a bumper is a title card placed at the start or end of a video which states who made it. Some are as simple as a bitmap image, while some are animated with swirling lights and such.

Theatrical Movies often start with bumpers introing the studios and production houses involved in the movies development.

Really vid stealing is overrated. There have only been a couple actual cases. Though I haven't been to a Con, I've heard a *few* stories of people seeing vids that were on here advertised at the con as being done by someone else.

But it doesn't happen often.

Post an announcement in the Announcement forum when you get it up and running.

I am sure many will see it. If they leave a opinion is another matter

You can always try to pimp it off in the chat room as well

erm, one more thing--where do I send my PayPal payment for the site pledge? And once it has been received, ...where can I upload my video? Does it take a few days?

RubyHatchet: you wont be able to upload your video immediately, as the golden donut wont be able to start until phade has recieved enough donations to cover the cost for 3 months. It's about half way there right now.
