The Trouble with Living with AMV

Post by LittleKefalos » Tue Feb 18, 2003 6:33 pm

I just thought I'd write this on a whim, but in some ways its true.

I enjoy watching anime and anime music videos, but maybe too much, because then what occurs is this.

--I watch so many anime videos and my favorites again and again, and thus do not see normal anime, this is bad.

--I become fearful of downloading videos, why, not because I will find a mediocre (spelling?) video that makes me feel like I wasted time downloading it, but rather that I will find a great video that I will have to add to my collection (which only grows) and thus force me to watch these even more, making me waste more time.

--The biggest problem is, the more I see anime, the more I realize just how good so much of it is, how is this possible? Will it always be this way? I will never be able to see every good anime ever, because I am mortal and because I only have so much time and because I lack knowledge (like we all do), timing is also important, you have to see an anime when you're ready for it.

--Life is short, what am I to do.

--In case you didn't know this is a post which means little, however any suggestion to solve the problem of AMV Internal Battle Syndrome (as I have dubbed it) are greatly appreciated.

:)

If you flame this, I'll be tempted to call you an idiot, unless you make me smile.

By the way, this may not be considered part of General AMV, but it is General AMV, because I can't be any more general, and at the same time be relating to AMV problems. I haven't seen a similar post, but I haven't checked them all.

I guess I just want to create a new post thread, before going to bed. Can you blame me. It may never happen again.

I sort of get that... My AMV list that I watch is over 100.. forgot the total but I think it's something around the 150-200 area... like atm, I'm watching a ranma 1/2 AMV...

But I still watch anime.. lot's of it... I have a total of about 5 series and 4 movies on my computer, which I also have in my playlists.. (too lazy to put them in my dvd player and change disks..)

Pacing and goals. another good thing, have a life outside of amv's. physical activity is a plus. after an physical adrenaline pumping activity, watch a few amv's, they will certainly appear differently, mostly because of the adrenaline. quite a rush if you watch action amvs too.

Just give in to it.

Raid your personal hygiene budget for CD-R money.

Give in to the amv otaku side...

I still have space on my hard-drive, I don't have that many videos yet (only about 50-80, ok maybe that is a lot), I haven't downloaded videos for a while, haven't had the time. Actually I usually do things in spurts, thus one week may be nothing with anime, while next may have a lot.

Where do you go to only see which videos were made this year?
