Short Films, PSAs, Music Videos?

Post by Tearx » Wed Aug 18, 2010 9:08 pm

Well obviously we all are interesting in editing and such, but I am curious about how many of you are interested in the film area.
Link some stuff you have made so far! =D

(also maybe say a little bit about the process of making it? camera/equipment info?)

I used to work in the film industry until I got tired of getting ripped off with chump change for all of my hard work. I've gotten a much better paying job since then, but my passion is still film and I'd like to start my own film production company in the future.

Here's my old 2008 demo reel which has some clips from the first feature I worked on, you can check out more of the film on my vimeo page.

The film was shot in 16mm and I did all the edits in Final Cut Pro.

I worked for a TV studio, and later made political ads for Democratic Candidates. I left professional editing for the same reason Castor Troy did; too much work, too little payout.

I edit three TV programs... was a good experience, the TV world has its own rules and different techniques, for example... editing a TV program more easier than edit an AMV, AMV has more details, perhaps the most difficult to edit a program TV is the audio.

In any case... was a good experience for me, I learned many things... and I have put into practice :D

This is my first short film documentary:

That's some pretty cool stuff...

As for me, I have no real intention of attempting to turn it into work though, taking a class or two just for the info would be funtimes :3

I would like to settle down in the proffessional music video industry, but that's probably not that easy without moving to a different country. My country's industry doesn't seam to have a great budget for those things. Well you can still make cool stuff without millions of budget though.

I'm interessted in video production in general.

It's true... in my country too. :(

Here there is no market for audiovisual production, here is one or two companies on!

If I had the opportunity to emigrate to Mexico. :P

I've done freelance work here and there. And done video editing work for a few companies I've worked for. I don't really have any copies to show to anyone because the videos are all confidential, and the freelance work I didn't retain any rights to the material and since have lost my masters...

I have been planning some music videos that I would like to shoot in the future. When I have time and a working camera. Been wanting to put together a demo reel as well.

Why not do a music video from all of us?

This would be an MEP... may be of interest to everyone to do their segment, making the production and post-production, each with its style and its vision of director.

We could do something like this:

34 directors participated in this Music Video 8-)
