That is the most retarded suggestion I've read in this entire topic.Kionon wrote:I think it should just be rotated through those who are active in the community, eventually letting us all host.

Re: AMV Radio v2.0
well, generally speaking, I'm guessing only those who are popular enough will probably be the ones hosting anyway... so i doubt some no name noob will get any air time anyway, which isn't something i necessarily agree with.

Re: AMV Radio v2.0
I've had this conversation with Jasper.
Even if I, or a committee, choose the guest hosts, someone, somewhere will say "it's just a popularity contest" or "they were only picked because they are friends," etc.
There is no getting away from it. Period.
BUT regardless of it being a popularity contest or whatnot - the majority of the people picked the guest host because they wanted to hear what these guests want to say.
I am planning on having it rotate, and only allowing guests to re-appear maybe every half year (on account that a majority of the audience want them back).

Re: AMV Radio v2.0
People will sign up themselves to be a potential host. Of those that sign-up (monthly), then the audience will vote via poll. It must be this way because those that sign-up must actually commit time and effort to making a good show. After the guests are voted in, I will personally be working with both of them to make sure they are 'compatible' and that they follow the guidelines of the show.MrDoctorDoctorGimmeDaNews wrote:On that note, would the voting be write-ins of whichever name the voter wants? Or will there be a nomination pool to vote from?
The success of this will definitely be spread between the hosts and the audience, with some guidance from myself. I want to involve as much of the community as possible so this doesn't just end up as one of those shows that only cater to a certain niche in the community.

Re: AMV Radio v2.0
I'd have to agree. It'll just degenerate into every other iteration of things outside of the org (i.e. terribad). I actually wouldn't mind hearing from 'no names' b/c they probably will say things I *gasp* haven't heard about or talked to others about. But yeah a rotation at the very least with no repeats till X would be nice.Pwolf wrote:well, generally speaking, I'm guessing only those who are popular enough will probably be the ones hosting anyway... so i doubt some no name noob will get any air time anyway, which isn't something i necessarily agree with.

Re: AMV Radio v2.0
While I understand the desire to have a rotation to keep things fresh, I think it also ends up really restricting those who might have enjoyed hosting and would really like to do so again. You might say that people would get tired of the same hosts, but that's not to say they won't have different things to talk about. One solution I wanted to propose would be to allow the viewers to also have the choice to keep one (or both, perhaps) of the guest hosts for another month if they particularly enjoyed it. This way you're not being so harsh in restricting the guests, while still allowing the majority to select what they want for the next month, and of course the guest hosts could always simply choose not to put their names in for re-selection.
Regardless of what's decided, I think people should keep in mind that it's not like the decision will be the absolute final choice, there's always room for modifications, particularly with a show such as this which will depend fairly highly on the viewers. The first episode will essentially be our experiment, getting a feel for how it's being received and how we can proceed with the next. Even if Jay's had experience in the past working with this format, we're still going about things slightly different.
