Just to put in my say on things. I have to say an amv doesn't need to have effects to be an awesome amv. Cross dissolves, fading and overlays are great for certain amv's. For the most part the video has to have meaning or else it is just sensless. It isn't that hard to sync the lyrics to an upbeat song and put special effects in there at the same time, but I find it common in the ones I watch that they have great effects but no lyrical sync. The story in my opinion is what counts. The effects are just an add in that will improve the video. For example Shrine of the Goddess one of my earlier amv's did fairly well and didn't have any special effects in it at all. I hope this clears things up a little bit.x0chiaki0x wrote:I've been seeing lots of AMVs lately, to get mine hyped up and ready, and I've seen hidden vids that were awesome even without the flashy effects. Can a video be awesome even if it was just fades and cross dissolves? Or does it have to have an effect to make it great?
