Re: Musing on the community by OtakuGray
Things have always kind of been this way. In a very general sense mind you. it just has to do with the perceived standards of the time. i say perceived because in the end they are all made up by the community. As a hobbie i do think the standards are maybe a bit too high,. especially for a starter. but as a professional they aren't high enough. Hell i still don't know where id rate myself in the community and ive been here since before the site started.

You know, now that I've read the thread for Heart Warming, everything about the rant makes more sense.
Not in the sense that Otakugray is bitter, but in the sense that he doesn't understand what a logical contradiction is.

I vote we sticky the heart warming thread but retitle it "How NOT to respond to criticism"

For bonus points you can try to quell a rant @ cosplay.com about the follies of spending hundreds of hours and hundreds of dollars in the name of super-accuracy when you're the wrong body type or skin color, or the people @ fanfiction.net about mary-sues.
No thanks, I don't feel like being hunted down and killed.

I guess that long ago we had agree that "RAW editing" is different than "Effect Editing", that otaku is bad, boochsack is shit, pokemon is dead, ORG are etilist old tea-drinkers, that theres is a France, Italian and MAD community(and some others), that "welcome" thread is off to this site (this is not a Social Network Community), OtakuGray´s amv lacks of sync, quality and good comments, we have "da rules", and nobody really cares(or should not), it´s just a hobby.
just passing by.

Professional animators from Japan: "I wanted people to view this work of animation but I didn't want them to edit it and do remixes without my permission. That is just rude. They could have asked me at least."OtakuGray wrote:Alright. i wanted people to read my rant. its true. But i didnt want it to be edited and reviewed without my permission. That was just rude. He could have asked me. I would have let him post it probably, although perhaps in a more polite manner.
I would have thought the AMV community would have been farm more open to critique and discussion of what someone said. Now if you want to complain because you feel you are being misrepresented that's a different case you need to make.
Don't worry I didn't read the first post or the original document because I am an elitist ex-AMV editor who does not give a shit anymore =p
