Re: Where is our world going?
*too lazy to read the whole thread*
But here's the thing
Look at me, I'm a shining example of someone who was shunned by the org. Most people who have been treated the way I have would have left by now. But thanks to my abnormally high self esteem and my tendency to troll myself, I've hung around this long. Try being more friendly, and accepting, rather than shutting someone down (the "shut up noob" mentality) try being a bit nicer, I'm not saying sugarcoat everything, just don't point and laugh. Telling them what they did wrong and telling them how to fix it does not mean "be a blunt asshole".
And I remember godix saying something along the lines of "the org has really gone to hell when comments like mine have become the norm."
When I first joined I was bubbly, energetic and over the top. The org has changed me, I've become more cynical, and far more irritable. This isn't a good thing.

Re: Where is our world going?
Shit double post but I remembered something else I wanted to say.
When the pros on the ORG are gone, where is editing gonna go? The org would likely just die, it would all go on the tube, or scattered sites throughout the web. And I predict that AMV editing altogether would eventually die.
And I wouldn't call the tube friendlier at all, it's full of people who steal other peoples videos and call them their own. People catalog their videos on the org and this way you know that the video was made by one person and not some ripoff artist on the tube.
And really I think there ought to be an upload button. I imagine that would be worth it, people who don't want to have to learn ftp will be able to upload.

While that would be handy, our poor programmers are already underpaid [AKA: Note paid at all], and setting that up would be a huge undertaking that I'm surehasteroth wrote: And really I think there ought to be an upload button. ------EDIT-------
I honestly think the forum has gone buggy. This is the second time I've double posted in the last hour unintentionally. >.>

What is this?
Amateur hour?
Snoo snoo.
Also, org is dying in more ways than one (insider info?). But that's ok, it'll pickup elsewhere in some way or form.

Re: Where is our world going?
Surprisingly, hasteroth remembered my opinion fairly accurately.
. . . we are focusing on entirely the wrong things and to a large degree we're a bunch of hypocritical lying elitist bastards who actively try to run absolutely everyone away from the hobby. Considering my usual attitude I shouldn't complain I guess. However in a healthy community I'd be the extreme outlier on the edge of being permabanned and these days it feels like I'm fairly mainstream for the org...

Re: Where is our world going?
Adaptation... The.org system currently has some improvements but not enough for the current environment of the Internet, I love this system, but... I think it's very outdated to modern times, I do not want a massive change of this system, because that is impossible... No money, no time... All I can say is "Thanks guys for the administration... thanks for keeping this community alive in these modern times"
Now... at first I said "Adaptation" new users who are in the forum need to adapt to this place, need to adapt to this system, teaching them the game from the beginning, I do not propose major changes, but... be good to create a forum AMV Announcements for editors rookies, I explain, "novice publishers put their AMVs here to receive constructive criticism to help them improve"
Also, use a level system (as used in ZonaAMV) to differentiate novice editors from the experts!
These are ideas that can help new users adapt faster!

Re: Where is our world going?
that's the point, we don't want those ppl here. Give a man a fish and he'll eat for 1 night. Teach a man to fish and he'll have dinner for all time. These ppl expect all their work to be done FOR THEM and DON'T WANT to learn (FTP) right? What makes you think they'll want to learn how to edit music videos either then?? Sure they might say so just to get their upload button but they'll just go back to stealing videos from the tube and uploading them HERE which is just UNHEARD OF!hasteroth wrote:people who don't want to have to learn ftp will be able to upload.
If you ask me this site is just WAY too user friendly with it's QCs and junk anyway.
If you do not think so... you will DIE

Re: Where is our world going?

I think QCs is the problem here... and not reading video profiles before oping might be a culprit. But when 85-90% of qcs are made without even POSSIBLY (not that anybody did anyway beforehand) reading the profile that just can't be good if you carry important information in the profile. Before too long we'll get qcs that read 'what anime/ song did you use?' like in the dreaded YT.
If you do not think so... you will DIE
