Damn, Sierra, you joined only 3 days after me. I don't think I noticed you until 2004-2005. :o
Kusoyaro: We don't need a leader. We need to SHUT UP. Make what you want to make, don't make you what you don't want to make. If neither of those applies to you, then you need to SHUT UP MORE.

Let's do another round O:

Sto, maybe its like sex too then |:

Bashar, there really wasn't a correct way of interpreting it, it's just an open discussion.

Scintilla, amvs are serious business afterall.

Nio, whens this school project gonna be done? never? |:

Godix, yea, its a hobby though hence why i never quite got this whole retiring business. But that's what I mean.. I do still enjoy it, but it just feels like I've been here for too long. So, while I don't want to 'retire' I just get this feeling that I should
(but I won't though, Neveeerrrrrr O: )

Minion, it happens.

Inverse, /me puts u in a retirement home

Kionon, but most of us in this thread aren't that old >_> ... but I see what yer saying to a certain extent. Technology has certainly made it easier for this hobby to be accessible, but I think the pros still outweigh the cons in that aspect.

Infy, I might just quit to spite u, its wut i do best, spite people.

Sierra, we came around the same time, hence why I fully expected you to have the same kinda feelings about being around too long. As, for yer sis, well I don't vote on the VCAs .. not since.. uhh.. I don't remember. But i still do feel that her name/'retirement' got the best of a lot of the voters, deserving or not, u cant deny that there was inclination to vote on her favor due to those factors .. but the VCAs are crazy like that ... just feel bad for those that also deserve recognition. I say this knowing that this has also happened in the past with me, partly why I haven't voted these past years. Oh well. |:

kewp, im in the same boat as you, i feel as tho i should quit too... but unlike me, you have accual talent and good videos, so even tho you dont edit much often, you should keep at it. your one of the biggest names in amvs.. when people think of amv editors, its kewp, doki, zarx, decoy, and a few others names that come to mind. if you were to quit you would go down like kevin caldwell. so all i can stay is, if ya really do quit, atleast stick around and hang out with all of us. the choice is ultimately yours tho. best of luck on whatever you choose tho

The problem I had with all of it was not the retirement or anykind of sympathy votes, but the fact that she broke site rules by uploading a re-edited version and not re-mastered version of her video during the middle of the VCAs (under the same vid ID and made a thread for it). It was uncouth. :?

It's way too early for me to leave. I feel I have years of editing to catch up on since I wasn't able to actually participate in the creation aspect of this hobby when I first caught wind of it and wanted to (back in '96.) Lack of equipment left me in the dust till '02 and that's 7 years of editing I need to make up for! So you're gonna see me around for quite some time :P

I could see an announced retirement as kind of a, "Later guys, it was fun while it lasted" perhaps. I figure when I finally do quit I'll just disappear and no one would be the wiser. It's not like anyone really noticed my work up to this point, I don't expect anyone to really care in the future either.

I highly doubt however that I will ever grow out of enjoying watching AMVs.

I'd probably move from editing/directing to producing. :|

Seriously, there are a few video ideas that I have that I'd have to complete before I can even think of not editing. And at the rate I'm going at, that day is going to be a long time away...
