Some of the first AMVs I ever saw are still some of my favorites...I think because it was more about getting across a story or emotion rather than having to focus 50% of your time making it look clean and shiny
Don't get me wrong, there are still alot of great AMVs that really make me feel but you kinda have to do alot of digging, whereas before I could just randomly pick something and it would be great.
As for my own AMVs, I still like my first one. I would like to go back one of these days and clean up the footage (it is very interlacey
) but the overall feel of the AMV is something I'm still very proud of.
