So how do you guys do it?

I really have no idea how I get any editing done at all with work, wife and kids and all. I can usually steal a few hours on the weekends after soccer and the occasional late night, when I not finishing costumes that is. As crazy as it all seems, it's still fun as f*ck!

moment, there are other things instead of editing

well i am not fast and have many breaks in the time i work on a video. so there are also other things to do.

I'm almost always too busy with commitments to edit during the daylight hours and reserve all my editing time for night. I really enjoy editing during the rainy season since there isn't much else to do and the nights are longer. As for speed, I'm a s-l-o-w learner so takes me longer than the average amv editor...well at least it seems that way.
