Requiett.

Except the problem with him is that, half the time, the newbie he's talking to doesn't realize that it's sarcasm and takes it as a compliment.

I guess you could PM the sender and ask he/she why their statements were so far out. Or you could reply to an opinion given.
But remember there are a lot of people who don't leave names with their comments. Let alone someone who's going to respond in the first place.

If I may say so, part of our "maturity" as authors is to deal with immature audience members.

That's really not the case all of the time. Remember, your videos probably reached different audience members than others.
Citizen Kane is surely NOT a retarded movie, but it definitely receives its share of retarded comments.
The same for AMVs.
Totally agree, and thanks. *highfive* To be honest, I am new to the online community, and I'm surprised that people act that way. Yes, will become more flame-proof in the future (while noting the stuff which is actually helpful). Personally, adding sarcasm to a comment doesn't make the statement more impactful for me. (that's directed to any flamers out there)

Quick comments are anonymous... I haven't received many comments with rudeness where people are brave enough to leave their name (or it just gets deleted by mods before I see it XD)

LOL at the Citizen Kane. (that movie sure sucked... j/k I haven't seen it... I think)

Put it this way, if someone made the effort to mention improvements in a way that would be pleasing to hear, I'd really appreciate it...
A while back I got qucik comments and ops for my videos that told me how shitty my video quality was o.o I look back at them today and say...wow I must have a new set of eyes.....During betas (I've only had 3 so far) I have heard comments like...you need to take this out or you need to fix the interlacing..and even, that is a shitty idea and it won't go anywhere in the long run. I know I don't to hear it sometimes but...hey I asked and I am pretty sure it is for my benefit...I do sometimes disagree. Most of the comments in the long run I can agree with and I do see myself being much better then where I was 4 months ago (not everything is going to be sugar coated for you). o.O

And them leaving a comment like that in the first place is a different issue to how I react to it.

1/5. quality was just as bad as the fucking video

Damn! I am so tempted to call that a flame
That's not even near flaming. It's constructive criticism but vague enough that it's little help to anyone.

...
And since I hadn't gotten many I've come to the conclusion that if you don't make retarded videos you won't get retarded comments!
Actually I rarely have a point to my flames, at least in QCs. I learned long ago it's a waste of time giving constructive criticism to someone unless they specifically asked for it. Hell, most of my QCs are left because I have 10 unrated videos and I want to download more. So I rate and flame without having actually watched the video yet.

You should toss Req in your list as well. Except he pulls off trolls instead of flames and usually does it in a way the target doesn't even realize what's going on. I'm not sure if that's a statement on the quality of his trolls or the stupidity of his targets though.

As for why you haven't gotten more than you have, it is possible that you're so bad at making videos that the master assholes don't even bother downloading your stuff anymore. Just tossing an alternate suggestion out there...

I understand what you're saying (which is any kind of comment can be beneficial) and I don't disregard comments simply because they are rude... but I think it makes for a nicer and more encouraging community if manners were used. As few f words as possible, please. I do separate the good from the bad, despite the fact that most of what they say is redundant, but that's no excuse for them to use bad language.

OK, so it's not a personal attack, you're right, technically not a flame, but it's still as rude as anything.

Why bother putting QCs? They're optional. And it's not as if anyone would know it's you, unless you've advertised it somewhere on the site...

Favour?
QC this... XD. I'm so curious. (unless you already have, ha ha!)

btw don't actually spend a lot of time on it because it's one of my older ones and I've progressed a lot technically (with WMM anyway)

I agree with what you said

being really rude with comments always seemed pretty pointless and dumb to me
Im always (well most of the time ) mind my manners whenever i actaully do comments
Some people around here just don't have any home training
Damn heathens...

If you ask me, there's no point. There's no way to prove your identity there -- anyone else could just as easily leave a QC and sign it with your name.
