90% of a lot of things are crap. But to miss out on the good stuff because of the bad? That's a sad sad way to live.

You're both wrong, the Voyager is obliviously more awesome because not only did it exceed its limits by being trapped in the Delta Quadrant for 7+ years, but the crew was half Starfleet and half Maquis. They had to overcome the Borg AND 8472!

I find this amusing coming from you with your screen name. And this thread reminds me of Star Wreck.

The Orcs of Mordor attack DS9 and the Enterprise-E and have a massive bizzare space battle, and then the Death Star blows up all of them, then a fleet of Borg Cubes with Harry Potter as their Queen fires a proton torpedo down their exaust shaft, and then Goku blows up everything at Super Sayan level 10 billion. And Q laughs the whole time.

The thing that irked me about the convo was because the way he said it was crap. Ok, posted AMVs in wrong thread, maybe. But crap? He stated it as fact, not as an opinion. Some people do this. They say something sucks as if it's widely accepted fact, and if you disagree, you are stupid. My friend calls this a "factual opinion".

my post was from experience... I've been to Star Trek conventions, I've shown up at the movie theaters first night with most of the same crowd... I know how "those people" can be...

(for the record I like Trek, I like the show, I like the characters, and even some of the actors seem like they would be cool people to hang out with, but some of the people in the fandom seriously scare the crap out of me... and also, I have had this screen name or a variation on it since I was 13-14 which is a good 12-13 years now @_@)

Not everyone will like AMVs...

It's just preference. I know a lot of people I say "Hey I found this cool AMV, want to watch it?"

"Nah."

That might not be hate, but they have no interest. That person was probably pissed off too and said "THEY SUCK!!1!!!" even though he probably just had no interest in them, because he knew it would aggravate you.
That's just a basic point of all arguments though.

Well I figured that as I'm a Trek fan as well (but seriously not as crazy as some fans... I don't own a uniform I swear!!), and I recognized your name since I've seen DS9 of course. I once roleplayed a Trill character online... gave him a rogue-ish James Bond personality, a fetish for weapons and explosives, and a repressed evil previous-host personality in his symboite that would occasionally pop up and go on homocidal rampages, Lucy style.

yea. i don't roleplay...
but i do cosplay.... sometimes... in other words, i have a uniform. but yea I wouldn't wear it to jury duty :/
