That's the intention I had in starting this thread Michele.Michele wrote:It could be also a good thing I think, who knows.![]()
It's not that bad at all.
Thank you for CLARIFYING it for all the RETARDS. I'm in favor of the Donut biting it.

Or dunk the donut, as the case may be. If only so phade can get some sleep.
Seriously, the Donut has always had built-in obsolescence. As bandwidth to the home keeps going up, it will soon - eventually, in the near future - for people to run servers on their own. (IPv6 should also allow individual IP addresses although I have heard very little about that prospect.)

mweee hee hee!
(What was that for?)
I came up with this weird idea. Not only will it decrease bandwidth, but it will annoy the heck out of the RIAA (or whatever the heck the abbreviation is): Make the AMVs and upload the AMVs...minus their audio track. Har har har, then, if you want to listen and watch an AMV (hey, there's no audio in A-M-V!) you'd have to already have the song that it goes with it in your possession. I'm sure some nifty person could come up with a program to quickly and easily synch the AMV video with the song so that it could be played appropriately. Ahhhh, probably already something out there like this, actually.
^_^
And god, I hope I don't get sued for having been a good doobie and donating to the ORG. Hrm, wait, wasn't there something about no personal information save/transmitted in the pledge receipt?

Yeah, how dare we let those who want to edit casually make AMVs and put them up for people to see?
Just as Arigatomina said, just because someone doesn't have money for hosting doesn't mean they're not serious about editing and even if someone isn't, this is a hobby and I could care less how serious they are about it. If I don't wanna see it, I can just *gasp* avoid it.
Also one of those "non-serious" editors might make a video for fun and after having fun, get better and make the next *INSERT OMGWTF AMV HERE*.

Somebody's already suggested this. You'd run into all sorts of problems with different versions of songs (some are edited by the person who made the video, specifically FOR the video), plus bumper/credits audio.DriftRoot wrote:I came up with this weird idea. Re: ?
Bad choice of words, the .org was originally intended as a catalogue of every AMV ever made.didrox wrote:i thought the purpose of the org was to have an archive of all made amvs
Again, bad choice of words, the prolific, free distribution would end, many people would still maintian their own servers, it would just mean a return to the days before the golden doughnut (local hosting)...which means I'd have to drop off the site because i can't afford my own hostingdidrox wrote:its just that the distribution would end

agreed
im like one of those people who impress you while talking with my undinable presence ....so yeah over the internet were you pay attention to my words and not my undenable presence they sound wrong ....
i ment to say is , that the org would still stand as a place that "gathers" amv and record them as being made . just like it does not , but the amvs would not be able to be downloaded thru this site. thats what i ment to say. that explains why you cant delete amv.
so you can take the org out of the hood but you cant take the hood out of the org ... once again i need my undenaable presence to make that statement all-cool.
