If some guy in New York can have a sculpture of cow organs in a musuem, cartoons mixed with tunes can be considered an ART.

I still think the guys who ran that Dinosaur Studios here at the ORG for a while for some of the best AMV artists around.

Until "X" gave it to them for a day in the 10% of AMVs

Even though I didn't get the joke, that video was still funny as hell. :)

You're wrong, it's not "certainly" art. It can be, but it's not necessarily.

Well, as for the the defintions I gave them as examples and even
I said "didn't say I belong in ether catagory"... I lean depending on what
the song tells me to do.. Though I'm not fond of fx most of the time.
Anyway, I was just trying to use those tools to shead light on a
interesting topic and stir-up some trouble. As for what art is.. I went
through the many arguements presented here and so far "ART is what you
concider art".. Is the best response I can give you by-the-way Night-owl
I do concider an AMV artist (watch playground of love) the number of
layers and depth to that video is insane.. Nice to hear your still puttering around the ORG man..

I found myself looking in a dictionary for "art", just because I was curious as to the exact definition of it, and it was "The conscious production or arrangement of sounds, colors, forms, movements, or other elements in a manner that affects the sense of beauty".

So, if one were to follow this definition, I suppose AMV's would fall under art. We could just set random clips to music, and it would be the same as if someone just splashed a can of paint on a canvas. Or, we could place each and every clip perfectly, much like a painter places his brush strokes. More effort goes into the latter, it is generally more appreciated by most people and is what they will consider art.

But then again, some people might like the random splashes of color (the balloon-popping method comes to mind, where a person tacks balloons of paint to a canvas and throws darts at them) just as some might like random clips set to music.
