What do your friends and family think about your hobby Anime

my mom likes the fact that i have a hobby such as amvs...

she tries to find time to sit and watch anime w/ me.. but.. time is like nonexistent for us now.. *sighs*

my sis and bro are into anime.. i got some cousins too.

i got friends into anime too... but most of them are just the "why waste your money buying anime when you can download" type of friends..

I only have one friend that buys the dvds

My Dad thnks I spend too much money on it and doesn't like it, but I did show him the Final Fantasy: Spirits Within movie, and he loved the animation. I told him "Yeah, this was all done by computers" and his response was "...you mean that's not an actress standing there?!" completely serious. I could tell he was impressed by that.

My mom understand that I love it, but she just doesn't share my interest. Like most other parents, she thinks that it's just cartoons.

My sister has seen everything I own and likes most of it, so that makes her pretty cool.

My co-workers asked, after I got back from AWA, "How was that kiddie porn convention?"

My friends just feed my lust of all things anime. We're a bunch of anime freaks. A get together consists of "Hey guys, I just picked this up, let's get some pizza and check it out." 9 times out of 10, that regresses in to some poker.

Somehow, I manage to squeeze a social life between anime viewings. :: shrugs :: Craziness, I tell you. Certifiable, even.

I think my parents would actually be upset/paranoid if I used my actual name, since they're more worried about the RIAA/CRIA/whatever coming after me.

...and that's not to mention the fact that the path to any technical profession is probably closed to me, anyways

Friends? what friends? the only friend i have is Mr. Pilkington, and Family, well my mom used to like my vids, but now, since i showed her Prison Bitch... she is little unsure about them.. My father dosnt care about em, which is fine... and everyone else just says "get a damn job"

My family loves all my videos and either see it as:

A: an investment in my future of "the bizz"

or

B: an unfair excuse to get out of doing household chors. "Hang on mom, I'm editing" is the same as "Hang on mom I'm looking at college websites".

Haha, I haven't gotten around to buying the hentai yet. I can only picture myself owning maybe 2 dvd's of it. My mom's big problem was the amount of money she thought I spent. Then I explained ot her that I could care less if I buy the Region 0 HK DVD's for a minor fraction of Region 1 DVD's. All of those anime combined I spent $198. Again, I don't care if it isn't 100% ligit.

yah, i went off to a con, came back with like... 20 sailor moon, 8 outlaw star, and 6 hentai... then i went off to a nearby hastings and got like.. twice that much... all for under $200... con prices were $3 each.. hastings prices were $2 each... so i got lucky... then agian, their VHS.. so that sucks...
