Yeah, I was there. I hung out with Xenodrake most of the time. I didn't enter a video because they were WMM creationsVlad G Pohnert wrote:Yes I was actually there this year! I hung around with Brad DeMoss and Lee Thompson mainly, but I did try to talk with as many creators as I could.... Sorry if I miised you... Vlad - I really look forward to seeing more of your vids^_^ I've only been able to get a hold of Memories Dance on kazaa a little while ago and now I want to see more of your work. Particularly Trascending Love. I was thinking of doing a video to that song you used (Sarah Brightman's "Only An Ocean Away") for a video a little while ago, since there were only one or two videos that weren't available for download that used it at the time. But then you entered Transcending Love in the catalogue, and I saw in your comments that you spent 350+ hours on it, and I realized mine was going to probably suck next to yours. So I went looking for different songs. Actually, I'm grateful you used the song, because I ended up finding a song that better suited what I was trying to do
I'd grown attached to the Sarah Brightman song when I'd started doing some planning for it, so I'm looking forward to seeing a video that uses it well^_^
And thanks to Tycho2k and Vlad for making this thread so polite
Very true. Usually if I don't feel like spending a long time on a project and want to rush through it, I dump the project and start work on other ideas, just because I get the feeling if I don't have that dedication it won't turn out the way I want it to. I've only had that happen to me once or twice but it does happen...Vlad G Pohnert wrote:Like with everything, I agree that putting time into something will amways be better then a quick rush job. I do spend 100s of hours on a video but this does not mean that that much time must be spend to have a good video. If you do spend a considerable time on a project, then you've got to love it enough to keep on going. This includes the music, the concept, editing and everything about it....

I just noticed we only live one province apart! They should have a AMV con in Edmonton or Prince George...Vlad G Pohnert wrote:I personally would love to meet and talk "AMVs" with everyone in this community. It's a shame that we all live so far apart and some of us seem to have trouble getting along as well!

Thanks for the comments, I enjoy talking with all of you expecially when things are polite, it makes it much more enjoyable then just yelling and swearing at each other! In terms of Transending Love, I'll probably have it on line near the end of September....

The wonderfull world of storyboard after storyboard after storyboard gets me through my AMVs, you have to let the inspiratio of hte idea carry you to come up with just what scene would fit where. Also consider than an AMV is never done and there isalways a little bitmore you can do to make it better, almotto the level of being a perfectionist.

I agree, this is one of the longest and most polite threads I have seen here! I'm so glad I started it.Vlad G Pohnert wrote:Thanks for the comments, I enjoy talking with all of you expecially when things are polite, it makes it much more enjoyable then just yelling and swearing at each other!
