You see, I have had jobs, and I also plan on getting more, but I still can't spend any money on anime. My collection is still small, but that has a lot to do with the fact that I don't watch much to begin with. Also, even once I get a job this summer, I can't spend a penney of it on anime, because I am going to Fanime, Anime Expo, and Anime Weekend Atlanta this year. The tickets to fly to Georgia alone are $500 round trip. It's not like I have much room for buying anything else there.

Yes, it's a horrible thing having to go to huge cons and have a blast and... God forbid, meet all you people in person.Propyro wrote:well that must suck ...

um... Isn't that a form of paying for anime?Ashton wrote:You see, I have had jobs, and I also plan on getting more, but I still can't spend any money on anime. Like I've also said before, it's all a matter of where you choose to put your money.
Just put a LITTLE money into your anime collection every once and a while, and I'm sure it'll grow like mine did.
The only constant I spend money on is music. I get into shows for free, and get free swag (demos/stickers/crap/posters) but that's about it. I still have to buy all my own CDs. If I have no money I get about 1 CD a week. I'll take half my lunch money ($10) and find some change around my room. Since I don't get taxed at my mall I can tend to find a CD for like 12 dollars I want. But when i get paid, msot of my money goes into my CD book. My CD book (especialy with the number of signed crap inside) is probably worth over 3 thousand dollars.
i buy other stuff in rotation about once every 2 months. Like I just bought Metroid Prime, and set money aside for a GBA SP this weekend, a couple months ago or so I bought a whole bunch of clothes.
It's all about just sacraficing (sp?) a paycheck every once in a while.

Right, and there is no chance that I will leave ANY of those conventions without at least one or two new DVDs. Those dealer rooms are DEATH! ^_^

are they?Ashton wrote:Right, and there is no chance that I will leave ANY of those conventions without at least one or two new DVDs. Those dealer rooms are DEATH! ^_^

In all my years of cons, I think I've actually spent like $20-30 in the dealers rooms -- and that's the combined total. They rip you off. The only purpose, in my eyes, that dealers rooms serve, is to show you what is out there. You can find better bargains online.

Oh, now there's a good idea...Jace Tsunami wrote:tons of people jack all their stuff from dealers rooms, it's quite easy.

And Jace wonder's why I typically show little respect for him...
and don't come back and say: "I wasn't saying stealing is a good idea, I was just saying people steal from the dealer's rooms."
