Indeed, and I would say there is much more nuture than nature in such things. Though, without falling into the naturallistic fallacy when considering this, I think that many things considered nuture are in reallity nature.

I think the answer to that would be heavily dependant on whether you were counting all the guys who were crying, or just the ones crying because they were empathising with the characters and not the ones crying because of having to sit through a sappy love/loss story.

(not like I'm one to talk, though... I occasionally get teary-eyed just listening through the finale of the Backdraft Soundtrack and thinking about what's going on in the film when the particular music is playing..)

Men vs Woman

Post by anneke » Wed Apr 16, 2003 10:49 am

There are alot of sweeping generalizations being made...however there is scientific studies showing a difference between Men & Woman. Saw one recently on the TV and it showed how girls are raised to be polite while men are more allowed to speak their minds. It doesn't hold true for everyone, but there is a big enough precentage that sterotypes can be formed.

I think calling all Female AMV creators social outcasts, etc... can be a little to generalized, but more so can just be offensive to some. Regardless of if it's true or not. Personally because I'm a female AMV creator I don't want to be labeled as being a Social Outcast or such, even if it's true. I rather just be seen as a female who makes AMVs, end of story.

As to why there are more men into creating AMVs then Woman...it's due to the technical side of things. There are far more Men into technical fields then woman, but that number is decreasing, and will hopefully eventually find an even balance.

It has something to do with people waiting untill they are older or something to have kids... The older you get the chances of having a boy diminish...

I read a book on it :).

Hell Men have been replaced with verio inseminaction and aluminum step ladders... (All we are good for is reproduction and getting things off the top shelves.)

Have a nice day gentle men I hope you make good use of what time men have before we become instinct.

The answer is simple:

VIDEO GAMES

They that play the most video games are most likely to turn into computer nerds and are therefore most likely to make AMVs.

Ever go to an arcade? What's the Male to Female ratio? It's about the same as AMV's... ever notice?

What got you into computers? I thought so...

Actually, what got me into computers was screwing around with LOGO when I was six or seven...but I digress.

OK, I'll bite: Which book?

Sounds pretty unlikely to me, I was under the impression that males produced roughly equal numbers of X and Y sperm – assuming there is nothing wrong with the male in question.
