It will be close, but I think I will have it done.

I've got the d2v files properly scripted with AVIsynth, have a 16-bit WAV clip of my part of the song (3:37:110-4:02:110 --pats GoldWave on the head for the fine trim job) and am saving MJPEG work copies of all VOBs overnight for use with method 3 from A&E's guides.

Again, it's going to be close. Read my journal for the sob story. At least if I do not make deadline, it will be because I'm actually working for a living--and right now I'm up to my eyeballs in it.

Quick Q: how large are the average segments turning out to be? If they're gigantic, I'll probably burn it to a CD-R and try uploading from work, with their phat T1 and all vs my whimpering puppy of a 56K connection--it does not like to upload huge files, for some reason.

I'm gonna try connecting here at home again after midnight, because I've heard rumors that after midnight they shut down the upload cap. I do not know if this is true or not, but I suspect it is for the following reason.

I have been downloading digisubs of Azumanga Daioh and Saikano. Now, last night when I went to bed, Saikano ep 1 was 95% completed and had taken me about a week to download through various 56k people. When I woke up in the morning, I saw that not only was it finished, but three people had successfully uploaded the thing from me during the night. This should not be possible with the outgoing transmission cap used by my university. Normally, people get shut down after a few kilobytes when they try to upload from me. If it is true, then I should be able to connect to the FTP after midnight and send the file in HuffYuv successfully.

In theory, that is.

So, if you see a partial or incomplete file in my folder, know that my transfer was cut off by my university and I shall try again with the XviD.

I'd love to know how it got changed to this angelpotion thing I have never even heard of before... ugh.

Well its not particularly angelpotion, but it is using the dx50 fourcc code, and my computer recognizes dx50 as being angelpotion for some reason. God, I'm just remembering how much I hated that codec. It has the tendency to make everytrhing slowly go pink and then back to normal.

Was the FTP having problems last night? I tried uploading my segment, but it kept timing out without uploading anything.

I just hope my segment is up to snuff with everyone else's...

I have had similar problems with the FTP. I plan on sending my segment via AIM to Klinky or Danny. If either of you have the chance AIM me at SSBM Dragon whenever you are ready for me to send my segment.
