...but when you get outsider analysis on stuff like cosplay, they seem to apply a minority filter to their understanding and pick out just the gems to see how much time/effort/thought goes into it, completely bypassing the 1001 people that raided the salvation army to toss together a half-assed L outfit that are standing near by. Funny how that works...

I'd wager that for every cosplay-positive fangirl or boy, there are 3 assholes making fun of Cosplay Failures. It's just too easy a target, and anyone can join in.

I saw a guy at a con with a large sign saying "L is for Lazy cosplay!". The backlash has started.

I had the same rant last AX. I'm sick of seeing L cosplayers who I swear to God only do him because it's easy to find jeans and a white shirt. And DESPITE that, they still manage to do the cosplay badly either totally screwing up teh hair, the eyes or the posture.

Without getting thsoe thigns right you just look like some poor punk groupie who slipped in the shower.

This Saturday I saw an amv mixed with Zelda - The Windwaker and Twilight princess. It wasn't a good one, but it really reminded me of the article, because it's suppose was really to show the editor's passion and maybe even obsession over the source.

somehow im sure that, in some level, editors end up more obsessed with amv, than with anime.
