Every 32bit application should work on a 64bit machine as long as there are no special circumstances. I think so, but I better not bet.

It works but it wont install on vista 64 or xp64 IIRC. you have to install it on a 32 bit os and then copy the files manually. Zarxax tested it if i remember.

No one as mentioned...

I recently switched from Premiere 6.5 to CS3.

I can get a darkglow plug-in for either one, so I have no preference.

I found it pretty easy to adjust to Final Cut after using Premiere Pro for so long.

I dunno how it works vice-versa though.
Welling going from Motion to AE was an easy adjustment for me, so I bet going from FCP to PP would be easy to.

I use Final Cut Pro at work and Adobe Premiere 6.5 at home (where I use a PC). I would recommend Final Cut over that version of Premiere.

Lots of people here vouch for Vegas, although I haven't used it myself. It definitely comes at a nicer price... and if you're just starting out, any of these programs will probably do what you want.

However, I think they all crash with regularity.
