The best award is pissing off other AMV creators. If you succeed in doing that while winning a contest then you feel a sense of incredible pride.

I'd like to get one of the specialty awards but I doubt it will ever happen, right now my favorite awards are from Anime Mid Atlantic 2007 they are the prettyness...

I actually like it when they take the time and make up really nice certificates. Not just your generic certificate you bought at the store. Trophys just gather dust, and while the 'Golden Katsu' I have is great for scarying friends who visit, and starting conversations, I rather just have certificates that I can keep in a folder. I also like when I get a 'banner' for my website as well for my AMV page.

If they want to give prizes, dvds are fine in the 'reasonable' price/items for prizes. Atleast there is use for them as footage if nothing else.

OF all the contest stuff I won, I do agree the Custom stuff like trophies are the best as they remind me of the contest and fun times... I think I got a few of everything I ever thought was real cool that includes two directors chairs from Sakura, a Clapper with autographs from all the guests, those interesting trophies from Anime North and the always neat Manifest Medal... Heck even the hunk of plastic from AX is not all too bad looking...

Yes, indeed. that Masters Jacket. The Jacket is not really that cool, but it just seemd cool to have it anyway ( I swear those who have it get into the secret AWA executive suite)... I did come close once... hmmm I guess I need to enter if I want to have a chance

I like all sorts of awards. I like winning without prizes too.

Awards are nice, and I like just knowing I won in something. As to what sort of things I like to win.........pffft, no one's ever sent me my award. Never ever. At this point, I'd be tickled pink if I got a piece of paper on it that said "ZOMG, you won!" But, still, winning feels nice regardless.
