well that's cool and all, but they still have to space in amvs. considering that even if your source has subs for whatever reason - i really don't care which - you can always crop them off. for FREE. just takes a little extra effort on your part. so there really is NO excuse. seriously. and like... for some people who ask.. WHY? well so that we as the elitist org community actually give your video a chance before criticizing it for something else. because honestly.. if your video has subtitles i won't even bother watching. if i know in advance i won't even bother getting. it's really insulting - that you expect us all to watch but don't even bother to put in the little extra effort to get rid of your subtitles? come on.. the only acceptable subtitles are when the editor added them him/herself. for whatever reason they have, don't care, but those are fine. whether or not they work depends on the video of course. it's sad that this issue is still coming up really.Nya-chan Production wrote:In fact, many people watch fansubs because they have karaoke (so they know what the song is about, I do that, f.e.) and nice font (because the DVDs still run on old deffinitions for subs/DVD players and can't afford shiny fonts, might change with BRs, though).guardiansoulblade wrote:Most fansubs use that STUPID karaoke effect and use a font that is annoying and it's usually an anime that has DVDs out, like FMA, or Bleach or Naruto, although I totally understand Naruto fans for hating the dubs, that English voice actor for the title characters is SCARY HORRIBLE.
Also, most of the groups get the fansubs BEFORE the En version is released and they DO please the viewers to delete it (and prefferably get the originals) when the En DVDs are out.

When I see subs in a vid, I know that the person is relatively new to AMVs/isnt an awesome editor. I really dont come across AMVs with subs that are edited really well. So recognize that the editor is not up to my standards. I pay extra attention to their video to give them feedback and mention afterward that it would be better to not have subs. Newbies are Newbies. You do what you can to encourage them to edit better. Sometimes many of them dont realize that it's that big of a deal until someone tells them.

thats all well and good until you see a newb with potential and you have told them 100 times that they should crop the subs (or other advice) and they still don't do it..
i usually find those people not worth even trying with, and stop watching their videos.

I'll let you win this one, primarily because I'm not bored enough to open an image editing program but at least partially because I'd get bitchslapped for page widening.Pas1990 wrote:godix wrote:Pas1990 wrote:godix wrote:On the internet your font size is equal to your penis size.
