I saw so many hobbies that died because people wanted more and more and yes it´s the same here with AMVs, but we have the great advantage that a lot of people just start editing just for the joy of editing itself. Ah yeah of course we want a lot of stuff from newbees, but overall there still come new guys. Oh well... If YT would just be a place where shit isn´t that overrated
This community is very strong connected, I doubt that the end is near already.
Are we expecting too much from editors themselves?
Of course most of us do! I just take myself: better, faster, tighter editing, more fx, more content. After a local contest and some debats with the major audience I stepped back from the tighter/faster stuff and I´m happy I did. I still want to develop myself in a ot of things, but still think/get the ideas for more simpel vids.
It´s often just the plain: I want to impress other editors with tighter sync and more fx. That can´t be such a good way right? I want to entertain more the wider audience and a flashgasmn isn´t the right way for.
btw. it´s pretty interessting to think/plan/and make good videos that suite the editors and the major audience site. Brings up a lot of new thoughts.
I still make stuff that´s absolutly my taste.
Are we over-complicating matters?
Mhm... Yeah somehow. A lot of drama could be spared.
It´s like watching Indiana Jones 4: Don´t think about too much about what you´re seeing. Just enjoy it. Ok it´s not that easy to come down...
"I edit because I enjoy it and for no other reason"
Ah. Of course we want praise from other people. Natural, I guess.
@Ingow:
Yeah that´s for the general userbase here. I think for the more advanced and deeper org user it´s: "I download good videos. I´m not searching for those with my favorite music or anime. If one of these elements is in one of the "good" vids I´m just a lucky person."
Ah too much complaints. Just sit back, come dawn and learn again about how to enjoy stuff.
@contests:
A lot of people just edit for contests. I see it in Austria. We have tons of talented people, but hardly anybody makes more than one vid (for the major amv contest here) in one year. It is sad, but whatever! I mean most of the make the vids for fun and for presenting theire stuff in fron of a audience.
Alright. In the end the two vids that I enjoyed most in the last months:
Warheart´s Remains of Oblivion: Intraday Dereliction
Phantasmagoriat´s Not another fanservice AMV
