The only time there's sound when I edit is when I'm watching a playback of the last whatever I just edited, or I'm listening to the song while looking for clips.

I always edit with speakers, since that is also the way I watch amv's...

I do a mix of both. While I'm editing I mostly use headphones, but when I'm checking something on th video to see how it looks, or checking how my compressed mp3 version of my audio sounds, I use speakers. I suppose a lot of people watch amvs on speakers, and if not, headphones won't make much of a difference.

I usually use speakers. If you're timing something to a beat you can only hear on headphones, then most of your viewers won't hear it. On speakers, you hear exactly what most of your viewers hear.

I prefer speakers, but I usually use headphones, especially when editing, mainly because more often than not, there are other people in my area who might object to a constant replay of the same 2 seconds of audio at varying speeds.

i've probably had my desktop speakers since forever but to date i've probably gone through 9 cheap headphone sets ~ thats my only gripe with headphones, they always break on me.
