The AMV where I first heard Moxy Fruvous isn't on this server at all, but on Youtube. It was The King of Spain, starring Fruits Basket's Akito. Now I have the CD, and am debatng making my own King of Spain AMV.
I have heard new songs on several AMVs, of course, but only a few that interested me enough to run out and buy the CD. As I watch more, no doubt that will increase.

I have about 90 AMVs on my 2 gig memory card for my PSP and most of them contain a song I never heard before. 9 out of 10 of the AMVs on my top ten list contain a song I never heard before and 7 out of those 10 have bands that I never heard before. I tend to favor AMVs with songs I never heard before over AMVs that contain songs that I heard before since I ain't expecting certain things as much.

AMVs are one of the biggest ways that I'm exposed to new music. Over the years, I've discovered artists as diverse as Jeff Buckley, Bright Eyes, ELO, and Liquid Tension Experiment because of AMVs.
But I have to admit that the artist I picked up the most on was Vienna Teng. Since seeing Waking Hour, I've bought (or was given, as gifts) all of her albums, attended four (soon to be five) of her gigs, and even helped to promote one of her shows in my college town. It's all been an extremely rewarding experience. Suffice to say, the bit of her stuff that's been used in AMVs, while excellent, is but the tip of her musical iceberg.
So yeah, exposure for artists = win.

Well actually, I saw the Osaka clip after the intermission, and then someone told me it was a spoof of Euphoria, so I went and downloaded Euphoria, then I went out and listened to Frau Frau.JaddziaDax wrote:why do i find it ammusing that amvhell3 introduced you to frou frou?
