I’m Dana, a Journalism major at Samford University and we have to do a media-related original research thesis. Of course, I thought of anime music videos and my teacher agreed! :D Unfortunately, there is practically nothing that I can find that refers to AMVs. So please fill one out!

Please go into as much detail as you can with each of the questions (the more detail, the better my grade!). Also, if you know anyone else who would fill out this questionnaire please point them in this direction. Thank you!
Sorry if some of this repeats stuff that's already been answered in other posts...

10. Who were some inspirations to you and why?
AMV_4000/Mr. Pilkington - The only 2 guys sick enough to make Hentai AMV's with me. They inspire me to make outrageous crap and not care what the public might think. I dig the freedom.
thx! i think..

1. Matt Diehl

2. Addiction Music Videos (amv_4000)

3. 4+ years on computers, since 96/97 vhs

4. A friend of mine introduced me to anime, i started as a fan artist *drawing* and soon saw my first amv while looking for different forms of fanart, loved them, so i started making them on Vhs, very crappy of course, then i learned about using certain programs, and well... i have just went on from there...

5. I began making amv's for love of the anime, and to make something semi-original that someone might like... it made me feel good when i showed someone and they would atleast smile.. now i dont get that anymore..

6. in the early amv's of mine i would write down my ideas, things like "00:35 - use romantic footage containg certain scene" i've been able to remember what clips are basically at what part of what show.. most of the time, im able to work faster because i know what clips i want and where to find them.. now, i just think up an idea, and dive in head first, not caring what happens or how it will turn out...

7. when i first started making amv's it was all about expession, and how good i could make the videos, after awa 2003, i stopped caring about how good my vids could be, i've been doing this for too long... so i just do what i want, and if someone wants to say anything about it, i'll show them one of my vids that dont suck..

8. Making amv's has helpped me with my patience, when i first started i couldnt sit still for 10 minutes.. now i can sit still for 10+ hours... also, i have learned how to make websites, fix computers, work with video editing software, and how not to cosplay, all thanks to amvs!

9. lets see, way back when there were few creators, the ones everyone knows about, sammy, and all of the DBZ video creators.. the quality sucked, and great effects ment that you faded properly.. good times... as for written history.. there isnt much to talk about... before a-m-v.org hosting was hard to find, so getting your vids out was hard to do, but thats what cons are for!

10. ok, the first inspirations were all dbz vids, i admit, some names i want to mention.. Meri, Sammy, Aluminum, and even DokiDoki... it was great at awa to be able to hang out with Aluminum.. around 2002, i had some new inspirations... MJ, was one for hentai vids, Zero gravity was one for FF vids... meri and Aluminum still made great vids...
Now my inspiration comes from a Lot of people, anyone who makes a good video inspires me.. (except Mr. Pilkington)

11. not much, i saw the MAD's at awa... i think a few of them edit in 60 fps... not sure though, i say, keep it up, we have ours, you have yours...

hope this helps
