Sister/brother/sister-in-law all see it as my quirk...

My friends at home don't watch anime and don't have much of an opinion on it...
What a sad tapestry you weave. [reassuring hand on shoulder] Some of my associates here (GA) can only appreciate anime at face value if they happen to like one aspect or two about a particular episode here and there. My friends from Tacoma, WA and CT are really the ones of the otaku variety.

X100 on those days you need the convenience factor (i.e. Double-shifts + insomnia and only enough tolerance for 5 minutes of discourse)

But talking on the phone is so much more fun. ;p

Yeah, I agree... but:

Well, she had pre-acknowledged it, I suppose it can't be helped.

I forgot to mention, I'd be mortified at the prospect of revealing anime to my ultra-conservative aunt and grandmother. All of a sudden talking about occupational affairs with them doesn't seem so bad [grimace].

My parents are glad that I have found a hobbie apart from eating :P
Seriously though I've made a few friends because of anime and I'll never regret getting into it. Plus I think it's a good thing i've started reading again, I just cant put down the gto/kenshin/hellsing/berserk mangas.

Well, my sister loves Anime, too. My father sometimes watches Anime with us, but only funny Anime. My mother can't understand why I love Anime...

One of my friends likes Manga and Anime.
Another friend of mine likes Ayashi no Ceres, because I've watched it with her and she loved it.
But my other friends don't like Anime that much.

CerebralAssamite, let's not forget that if not for your finding of Anime, then Anime Music Videos by proxy, and then we in turn suffer a shortage of much needed Australian-sent wit.

I think my uncle would be coersable into anime (although not outright fandom) and I have no 1st degree relatives of my generation, so that settles that.

Well I have some friends who are in anime as much as me. I've gotten my little brother and parents into anime too.

But some of my firends have a stereotype of anime stuck in their head that prevents them from even trying to watch an anime. They think all anime is a bunch of japanese cartoons with huge eyes dressed up like power rangers that fight and destroy things.

:x I'll keep working on them...
