1. Ok first off, as I have mentioned, it's a bitch for me to get any money when I have so many different things going on in my life... So I can't really buy them...
2. Uhh, why the fuck would I use game footage when I dont have many games, and I sure as hell dont want to use the games.. and their all scratched up...
3. Sometimes I want to use anime like Magic Knight Rayearth...
4. My only friend with ANY anime has End of Eva.. that's it... (yes, I'm going to use it.. when I can actually set up something to rip it....)
5. That might take quite a while....
6. See: My post...

In conclusion... I'm screwed.....
I'm not sure you are getting the point...

OVA and Movies are often only one or three discs so they are much cheaper to buy and much easier to save up for.

Meh, I don't care if you want to or don't want to use game footage the point is to simply use what you have Dirk_Temporo has games so he can use games.

Ideas come a dime a dozen... watch some new anime and then think up some.

See the guides in reference to dvd ripping

Don't tell me about all your money troubles again, anyone can save money if they want to. Why not just tell the truth you don't really want to save money for amv's because you have other things going on in your life. That's fine we all do have lives you know making amvs is simply a choice.
Dirk_temporo wrote:I was thinking about a bunch of games I have and making music videos with those, but all the video files haved strange and different extensions. None of them work with WMM. Is there a program out there that can take one kind of video file and make it into another?
I know nothing about game footage. There is a guide by Quu on the main site but if you have any specific problems ask in the Video help forums. Also see the Read ErMaC & AbsoluteDestiny's Friendly AMV Guides for some free programs that help with video editing.

(Two codecs in one that require the use of the irritatingly complex Nandub program to get decent compression, and cause a lot of ringing and weird errors in the footage besides? I'm sorry, techies: it sucks.)
Seeing as how tests done by Doom9 show that DivX3 SBC and XviD are the best MPEG-4 implimentations so far at this point, you're very wrong. ::)
Finally, download fansubs of new (and therefore currently unlicensed) stuff. There are a lot of groups out there right now fansubbing stuff as fast as the Japanese can make it.
Seeing as how that's illegal regardless of if it's here or not ::)

Well, I don't know what lovely tests Doom9 ran or what material he used, but what I do know is that I've seen a lot of stuff get seriously screwed up for no good reason with DivX 3. Whether you get the thing to work right or not, the end product still has too much ringing in it and I still see the odd ghost artifactin old pieces people made with that codec. Citing an authority doesn't cut any ice with me: DivX 3 is outdated and one does best to steer clear of it.

Xvid and any later DivX model (even DivX 4!), on the other hand, produce clear and crisp videos for me every time with little or no ringing of any kind.

So, you can sue somebody for translating and distributing your stuff even if it's in a nation where you don't have it licensed yet? That's news to me. What law says that? Since when do we bow to the whims of foreigners?

Considering I can get nice clear results from a 35MB SBC encode with 160kbit MP3 audio, you can't encode.

Owned! By an 11 year old, no less....

Okay, Here's some insight for hopefully all of you.
I'm 15, a girl, and a lazy bastard.
Or don't work for money, and I almost never work around the house.
Yet I have 50 anime DVDs, around 20 other DVDs, and a good number of Anime OSTs....
Not to mention a plathora of video games.

OMG! How do I get these If I have no income?!

It is called... Allowance. And Patience. I get 10 USD every week, which, around these parts, is VERY low(most of my friends get 20 or so USD a week). I also get paid for good grades on my report card.

Then there's also holidays.

Ask for anime on your birthday. Ask for anime on Christmas/Hannukah/Kwanza. Ask for anime on other major holidays.
If you ask enough, you will get it.
Believe me.

Also, a way to cut your costs, is buy used stuff. Hop on over to your nearest blockbuster, and buy pre-rented anime DVDs. Buy Pre-rented games.
Go over to that whatever store and buy used anime and games there.
Point being - Don't buy brand new stuff.

Yes, there are used DVD horror stories... And that's why you get domething called the DVD doctor... Around 30 USD, it re-surfaces DVDs.
It it worth it. And DVD that was previously UNREADABLE, is now perfectly fine after a few runs with the DVD Doctor.

Also, buy bootlegs.. Go on eBay, and get HK DVDs. After some practice, you will get to know which HK "brands" don't have hard subtitles, and fi you're just buying the anime for footage and not your own enjoyment, it doesn't matter if the subtitles or audio timing is off.

If you definetly want to go with US DVDs, though, be VERY Patient.
Get the boxset. Sure, I'm waiting, not buying anything for a few months so I can save up the 169 USD for a Trigun box set, but in the end, you save just around 30 bucks when you buy the boxset rather than each DVD individually....

How to get more money for doing nothing:
If you don't get money for your grades, try and work something out. My older brother failed most of his classes, so in an effort to get my grades up, my dad bribes me by saying I get 20 USD every A I get....
You kind of can't be a straight A student to get your parents to pay for your grades, but if you're someone who gets C's and B's, try talking to your parents and sayign something like "If I got an A, would you give me 20 dollars?" or somethign like that...

ANd it is always great to have good negotation skills

As a last resort, ask if you can do extra chores around the house for money. That way, you don't have to find someone's kid who needs babysitting, or rely on someone else for a gig... You can ask your parents ANY TIME if they need help with something, and most of the time they will have something for you to do...

Beside,s it's good helping out your parents, anyway. The more you help, the more they love you, and the more stuff they buy for you on major holidays. =P

This doesn't hurt my feelings at all, after all my annual bonus is directly related to revenue generated at our stores :D
