Okay, I am stating that I would suggest we all export @ 24fps, no sped up audio. The reason being is that these are all going back into Premiere again for another cycle of editing and synchage. So you'll have 24 different clips that would all need to be speed up, then slowed down again on export.

Since this is the first time it's being tried semi-sucessfully and also since we have alot of beginner editors. Reason I think we should all stay @ 24fps.

You can setup Premiere to preview @ 24fps, EVEN if you import @ 23.976. The point of this is that all your previews will be @ 24fps, so it will be in synch when you export @ 24fps, EVEN if you are using 23.976footage.

You can also use a AVS script AssumeFPS(24). Or use VirtualDub to change the framerate.

If people just setup Premiere, like the above. Then they would not have to go through audio readjustments. Sure it's not "true" pure 24fps editing, but it's close enough. The chances of people chaging three options in a Premiere settings window is higher then them following 15 - 20 semi-complicated steps in getting the audio-faster, the video faster and then the audio and video slower.

So we need to decide weather we're doing a full on 23.976 > 24 > 23.976 conversion or just exporting the best you can with Premiere or your video editing software @ 24fps. I vote for #2, it should be fine, so long as you preview @ 24fps.

Gosh, I was assuming by 24 you ment 23.97.
All this talk of speeding up and slowing down by fractions of a percent gives me a headache. I'm gonna have to go with #2 there, simpler is better. Hell, I'm using AVIsynth anyway, there is no reason I couldn't just assume 24 frames, it's easy enough.
So really, what does this mean in terms of quality? Will it like crap up every 1000th frame or something?

Well I started editing, I hope everything renders out right. This whole audio situation shouldn't affect my render. I still dont know how Im gonna send this but I'll cross that bridge when I get there.

Oh yea, I've been meaning to ask. How come our final product is going to be 640x480? Wouldn't it be easier to do it 720x480, since most DVD footage (non-anamorphic) is that resolution anyway?
I'm just asking because I'm using DVD footage, and I'm worried that exporting 640x480 is going to funkify how my source looks.
Everyone is not the same as you.
Get over it.
And lighten up.

Most Anime DVDs are anamorphic. They must be resized to 640x480(no cropping) so everyone doesn't look overweight and stretched out.

Remember TV aspect = 1.33:1, DVD is not 1.50:1. The video is stretched to the 1.5 aspect. So, ergh everyone looks fat. Unless you're using something that has been letterboxed, like a anime movie. In that case, just maintain the aspect ratio in Premiere with your project set to 640x480.
