Re: This Week In AMVs - New AMV Podcast
Well, I am not set on the 2~3 days schedule yet. I was paraphrasing in my post, the site simply says the show updates weekly when there is content and that the average time between shows can be 2~3 days. Of course, this is just starting out and in a few weeks I may run out of content to do 2~3 shows a week (or might start doing longer shows.) We'll see how it all pans out. I'm not sure the AMV Tuesdays thing will work, since I rarely have time on Tuesdays to do anything besides work and goto meetings for Youmacon (we meet every Tuesday and I can spend up to 10 hours sometimes at these things.) It was just a coincidence I didn't goto the meeting this week and had the time to tape the show ^^() It's a nice idea anyway and I'm open to other suggestions.kireblue wrote:I actually think that it would be best if you limited your podcast to once a week. If a event was going on (like a major con, or in this case the VCAs), then you could make additional or "special" releases outside of your weekly schedule in order to keep your listeners informed. But having a 2-3 day release schedule seems a bit much. (That's essentially 120 per year) Oh and since you released this podcast on a Tuesday, "AMV Tuesdays" would be a cool name for this. (just a suggestion)
Bauzi: It's been hit or miss from podcasts that I've seen and followed if dates were in the file names. Though that's not a bad idea and I might start doing it with the next show that I'm planning to record and hopefully release tomorrow.
Also, I checked today and found that TWIAMVs has been approved in both the Zune store and itunes store, so you can simply search for TWIAMVs if you use either software in the podcasts section to find and add the podcast to your preferred program.
That said, I'm planning to mostly cover more info on the VCA's tomorrow. However, if there are other topics anyone thinks I should cover or if you have any questions you'd like to see answered on the air then let me know.

Re: This Week In AMVs - New AMV Podcast
Might be a longshot, but I'd suggest you get a Co-host; there's some pretty good parts in there, but after a while you get the unshakable feeling that it's just some guy in a bedroom talking to himself. After all, being a subject[ivity] oriented show, a single person doesn't have the driving power need to keep up the pace, as opposed to an event oriented show such as a political broadcast or Blog.
Perhaps something in the style of Car Talk?

I haven't listened to this, but yes, a co-host would be a good idea

Show 2 should be ready to consumption tomorrow (the 8th) right on schedule. All recording has been completed but there is still some editing that needs to be done to ensure a greater listening experience. Expect a mid afternoon release for those of you in the states.

Re: This Week In AMVs - New AMV Podcast
Oh believe me, after listening to the first show over and over again, I'm working on cutting down on that. I will probably re-record some of the segments when I get off work in an attempt to cut down even more. Yes, I did use a script and in fact I wrote out a lot of what I said and simply read from it. The problem is that what I write can sometimes be a bit dry and while reading I can think of other things to interject, thus I adlib quite often still. The problem with the um/uh is that I use those as a rhythm keeping device in normal speech, so it is a little difficult to keep that down as I don't even realize I say it until I play it back. Though that is the reason why I currently am doing this as a pre-recorded show without a co-host that would require live recording, so I can go back and re-do things and make it easier for you all to listen in.Arashinome wrote:Less uh and um would be nice. :3
I'm working toward improving the quality of the program as well as the content within. No doubt as I go along I will get better as I start getting into a good rhythm and get more comfortable with this. I do actually do a lot of public speaking and stage work and things, however I am trying not to play a character which I feel would come across as phony to you all. So... well... um... uh........... I really can just drag on and on can't it?
tl;dr: thanks for reminding me. I'm working on it.
