To each his own. Many people have a one thing that they think effects an AMV the most and works towards it.Hacchin wrote:No one thing is most important though.

It's at least a shit that you can actually look at.godix wrote:*sigh* fuck that shit. Following the guide has nothing at all to do with making good videos. Polish a turd and it's still a lump of shit. It's a good idea to read the guides and all that, but it won't make him a better editor.
The difference between "I turned off the vid after five seconds because of subtitles" and "I turned the vid off after half a minute because it was boring" can be quite essential.

Either way the video got turned off before it was done and when that happens the star rating given ain't gonna be high. Video quality generally isn't the thing that captures your audiences attention and makes them like a vid. I have many videos I've saved that were entertaining but had shit for video quality. There are no videos I've kept that had great video quality and shit for entertainment.Nya-chan Production wrote:It's at least a shit that you can actually look at.godix wrote:*sigh* fuck that shit. Re: Tips to Improve my AMVs
My point is that when you have well executed technical point of the video, it has higher chance that people will watch it completely and focus on actual faults in storytelling and other things than technical (which is the first thing you'll notice).
Also, it's the easiest thing to master and for being really good editor you have to master sooner or later so why not start with it?

And I haven't got a choice because Nya will not let us release the vid unless the quality is good enough...Nya-chan Production wrote:My point is that when you have well executed technical point of the video, it has higher chance that people will watch it completely and focus on actual faults in storytelling and other things than technical (which is the first thing you'll notice).

Re: Tips to Improve my AMVs
I just made another one, it's not done encoding and it's not up here yet, but for this one I keep thinking I had transitions overkill, but I don't know. I took some feedback on the beta I put up in the Ops forum. All the feedback I recently got said I was horrible at syncing clips to music.

Just try harder, it'll soak in over few vids.guardiansoulblade wrote:All the feedback I recently got said I was horrible at syncing clips to music.
Or not.
Some people just have sync rather off and can't really manage it. To each its own, if the sync you do suits you, just enjoy it along with those who do |:
