use DVD Decrypter to put the VOBs on your computer... open Virtualdub Mod and drag and drop the clip onto the surface of the program

okay, i'm downloading the program now, hopefully i'll be able to figure this out since i'm such a noob, and even though you all told me what to do... it's all gibberish, ahh, i'll see what happens. oh yeah thanks by the way!

Well, read this to learn how to work DVD Decrypter.

That will give you the .VOB files you need. Once you have those, just open up VirtualDubMod and drag and drop the .VOB file into the VirtualDubMod window. That'll open it and show you the preview.

By the way, if you're gonna make AMVs, the rest of the guide that the above excerpt is from would be incredibly beneficial to read. (READ: you should read that whole guide at some point. Seriously, I'm still reading it, lol.)

Well, I say whole guide...I'm skipping the stuff that applies to programs that I don't use (Ulead, WMM, etc.) as well as the compression to formats I know I won't touch. I guess the most helpful stuff is all the pre-production stuff. That and I learned quite a bit from the theory stuff at the beginning. (Mostly ARs, pulldowns, and IVTCing.)

So I suppose I should say most of the guide. Granted, I'm just anal/OCD about these kinds of things, so I've read parts that I already knew. <_<

That better? o.O

And just try to rip it without downloading the ASPI layers. You may have them already, anyway. I did.

okay, so i'm getting the vob files ripped right now, for virtualdub mod, does that come with the programs i've already downloaded, like with the decrypter, or do i have to download it separately on another site?
