Meh. I'm not a huge fan of sexual fanservice. I feel that most good storylines are ruined by needless boobs and/or other appendages. Not in all cases, but most.
Perfect Example: Negima is a cute series (which I thought I might let my younger sibling watch, until I saw a few episodes), but it is ruined by constant bikini scenes, panty shots, and/or other pointless stuff. I know some of the plot is derived from the fanservice, but I think it could have been better. X_X
But it does add some interesting effects in others (Full Metal Panic, for example)!

Incidentally, the newer Negima?! series has very little fanservice, especially for an Akamatsu joint.CodeChrono wrote:Perfect Example: Negima is a cute series (which I thought I might let my younger sibling watch, until I saw a few episodes), but it is ruined by constant bikini scenes, panty shots, and/or other pointless stuff. Hmm, everytime I hear the phrase "nothing is better than the real thing" (or something similar) I want to basically bellow out "yeah and water is wet!! and do you have any other blindly obvious snippets to offer?"
I've been married 21 years, and during that time, the sex has ALWAYS been better than porn, or in the case of anime, hentai.
Now fanservice is to us, generally just girls with silly levels of bust development for the most part, and an overly aggressive need to let us see what they undies look like, or in some cases, an overly devoted need to see them undressing, or in a bathing environment.
And please, we all know the Japanese don't view sex and sexuality the same as the rest of the world, but, it's not like they don't understand limits eh. Pubic details for instance are not allowed in Japan. Girls don't get pubic hair nor sex organs, and guys, well the same thing, and for all intents and purposes, guys look the same as girls below the waist in anime
But I don't mind the occasional jiggle, because hell breasts DO move if the girl has them. Granted, girls generally DO wear bras so that they don't move too darn much. And I don't need EVERY camera angle to be shown from so low you can't avoid looking up their darn skirts eh. I mean, yeah, inside every hetero male, is a guy that will look up a girls skirt given a chance, but, we don't need it made defacto impossible to avoid
I don't mind nudity in anime, but, make it make some sort of sense.
Because, even though I consider myself totally addicted to chocolate eh, I can only stand so much at once, then it becomes over whelming.
And as was mentioned, if the show is utterly and categorically directed at SMALL people, shouldn't the need for fan service actually disappear totally? I mean, I've seen content I thought totally weird for the presumed age level. Yeah sure nothing wrong with same sex content in my view (I don't have problems with it in the real world either), but, come on, do we need lesbians in every damn anime under the sun?
And usually fan service is just meant to be as a joke. But, even a good joke isn't so funny the umpteeth time in one day
And yeah, I like to show the stuff to people that might be new to anime, and, I'd rather they didn't think I was sexually perverse, overly obssessed and in general kinda sick
So that of course means, that amvs need to tone it down sometimes.

Anime, one of the few things about the internet that doesn't make me hate the internet.

I truly don't see the point in homosexuality fandom. Sure, if girl-on-girl action turns you on, the same way porn usually does, it's nothing more special than porn. And I generally have nothing against pornography if it's within certain limits. And I guess it's generally impossible not to come accross any porn nowdays anyway.
But, come on people, why to get hyped over homosexual pairs (in general)? If you think they're generally the same as or equal to heterosexuality, then act that way, dammit. They're real people, not just objects of your homosexuality fandom :/
