The more I think about what's going on in this thread the more I become convinced that non-amv people don't hate AMVs because of boochsack, naruto vids, or whatever. They hate AMVs because AMVers are the biggest whiny fanboy pricks since the whole trekkie vs trekker argument was raging.

Quick simple question, is this "boochsack" a place called boochsack, or a code name for another place that isn't really called boochsack. I ask, because when you Google "boochsack" all you get is a lot of references to threads on site here using the term in posts.

Anyway, on "fanboyism" it's not a crime to like something, and not a crime to like something a lot. Might be a pain to be so in love with it though, that the fanboy immediately attacks anything not related to the fanboy's obsession.
Because then the fanboy merely becomes a "troll" in the eyes of the opposition.

As for whiny, you can find whiny as easily as trolling. As the terms relate basically to the perception of the person more so than the actual comment might merit.

Right now for instance, "fanboys" are being "whiney" over the decision by YouTube to insert ads into what I am told will only be corporate video content.

Addressing the notion of this boochsack, which lead me to an old thread, where an admin was discussing the advent of YouTube and how it would surely be the doom of places like a-m-v.org, hmm.
Well, anyone that can think objectively, has ALWAYS known, that to use content from a commercial product, is always one of those matters of tiring debate over what is and isn't legal. What is and isn't safe. And what can and can't be done.

Places like Animesuki that allow all those downloads of subbed eps, are wise, in that they ditch anything that moves to dvd sales. Makes sense.
But we all know of places that essentially don't care a damn, and continue to act as a clearing house for torrent links regardless if the anime went to dvd or not.

I am sure the anime industry sees us as less of a problem than those nasty "don't give a damn" places. And I am sure the anime industry isn't as obsessed with the fansub scene, as is the MPAA are with the movie download scene (different beast entirely).

But it always comes down to the nation your backside is in eh.
I suspect a-m-v.org is located in the US.
I bet if it was sitting in Canada, you'd be less worried. Although we do actually have laws here

Copying something that was available to be copied off the tv free is thought of differently I am sure in differing countries. And, I think we can all agree, the sales of dvds in North America would likely not exist without the fansubbers. So I think it is safe to assume, the anime industry owes the rabid anime fan at least a large measure of thanks for freely promoting their goods.
And let's face advertising isn't normally free.

I will say, that watching anime on YouTube is not a fans choice. My niece thinks she is actually getting a good deal watching her shows on YouTube. I asked her a while back, "wouldn't you rather watch it in decent quality?".

because hosatchel.com was already taken... someone bought out the oochsack.com url and set it up to fwd to the search on the org...

Here's a fun fact of life: Everyone you meet is a retard with their head stuck up their ass.
