In the early days we just called unfinished stuff previews, and the people who watched them, previewers. Much the same with fanfiction and prereaders. beta is commonly used for an unfinished video that you want to show people...

R1,R2,etc. - DVDs.
Does it means 'Region' or 'Release'? Or maybe even something else?
R1 is USA (and some other areas)
R2 is Japan (and some other areas)
