Though I've also seen something similar in recent game videos.
:shock:

Are you referring to the same one I found that went something along the lines of "DIE YOU WHITE TRASH NAZI SCUM"? :roll:
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

Hmm... I'd be quite interested to see how many people around here would stand with an umbrella on pouring rain, up in some mountain side by a lake, staring quite still on the trickling water, maybe observing the drenched ducks while listening Ministry of Sound: Dance Revolution album for maybe a good few minutes and eventually, "disappear" into the scene... with no drugs involved...

It'd be interesting to find out if a lot of AMV creators (or at least the ones that stick to the hobby long enough) might share some sort of pattern in the way they think and that what the world defines as unorthodox inspirations are in fact as orthodox as you might get if you focus on a population of AMV creators only. So far as I'm reading in this thread, I'm detecting a bit of a pattern in that a lot of people seem to be able to detach themselves from a daily routine and to gain inspiration from a slightly different context...

Nio... yeah, I don't make sense either ;_;

Actualy I do that now and then if i have the chance or opertunity... Last year on my vacation to germany for a weekend (dads a drummer so he had to play and i went along) I often grabbed the bike and went up the mountins along side the river I stopped halfway and sat down on a cliff and it started to rain... clichee maybe but it didnt bother me that much when the rain stopped i went back down the mountin and spent the rest of the afternoon sitting by the river with a beer... =\

so you do make sense actualy...

One of my recent videos was inspired by a movie trailer and a DVD menu.
I have no idea how to use this new forum.

My last AMV was inspired by YouTube

My recent, in production, AMV was inspirated by MTV nostalgia

My next AMV is inspired by something. Heh, inspiration comes from wherever. :P

Personal experiences, the weather, or sometimes just wanting to do whatever the heck the music sounds like/feels like/syncs up with.

Plenty good what you can get from everyday experiences, I say.

I kow a few who's videos came out of falling in or out of love. Love is very trippy, just ask Tom Cruise; he almost killed Oprah.

I've gotten some synch ideas from combo vids. The footage can't be chopped up or manipulated beyond a small amount of speed manipulation, and so the majority of synch is accidental or the kind of synch is out of the editor's hands. Has anyone here seen the DMC3 'Hell Sloth is Dead' vid? There's a Cerberus combo in there that has near-perfect beat synch.

I was (well, I still am) considering a multi-FF/Evanescence vid that would take a couple of lines of lyric synch from Marlowe's Faustus and also The Divine Comedy. I don't have all that many immediate real-life influences--it's mostly stuff that's already in my memory and available for recall.

The influence on my editing rather than my ideas comes almost entirely from the song used. It's the fundamental thing that makes the individual clips different from the ones in other videos, so I don't waste any opportunities to chain the video to the audio.
