That's not quite how it works.. See, as it is now, The illegality of AMVs is legal speculation (althugh it's damn good legal speculation), As far as i've heard there is no precident and there will be no prescident because nobody has the money to legally go toe to toe with the RIAA. We must exist without bringing any attemtion to ourselves. As soon as someone stands up, and shouts "Hey! look at us!" bad shit happens.

It's the act of shouting that will cause the avalanche...

lets face the facts:
1. Yes its illegal and if found out we can be prosecuted.
2. Three bands have already found out and have ordered us to cease and desist.
3. Drawing attention to this site would be like putting fuel on an already raging fire.
4. We are the biggest site available for the uploading and viewing of AMV'S and i dont see that stopping anytime soon.
5. This topic will always be a hot topic on the forums cause, lets face it, its true and we are all scared in a way that we will get a letter in the mail saying we have to go into court because of of copyright infringement.

From what i have seen on the forums and the site itself i think its a really good marketing tool. Ive seen anime ive never even heard about much less seen. Ive seen crappy vids and done a lot of them too. Ive seen some really amazing videos come along and most to anime thats not really all that popular. So i go out and buy a DVD if i dont like it (which is rare) then i sell it on Ebay.

I guess my point is that even though we are all criminals in our own little way, i dont see ppl stopping the production of amv's cause its too damn popular.
